May: A Month in Review

It was sunshine and LOTS of busy days this month at Stardale. From events and performances to brand new projects starting we're catching you up on everything from Stardale during the month of May.

Red Dress Day - Honouring MMIWG2S+ and their loved ones

The Stardale girls performed alongside some incredible artists for National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murder Indigenous Peoples. They sang and drummed with all their hearts and participated in the hanging of red dresses in the trees of the field of red ribbons.

From Seeds to Sprouts

The Stardale girls kicked off their new garden project focused on connecting with the land and growing food to feed and support Indigenous families. This month started with a plot of land generously provided by Kevin Roland and the excavating / site building by SOLID LANDSCAPE Construction & Design along with Bee Boyse Honey and the girls will tend to their garden and watch their hard work come to life.

Their garden was also featured in an article from the Western Wheel focusing on how it will create healing and connection for generations to come.
