Yale University Alumni and Stardale giving to the community – May 15, 2010

Yale Day of Service: Each year the Yale Alumni from around the world come together to volunteer their time to a worthy endeavour in their community. The Calgary Alumni with the Stardale Women’s Group organized a very special day. The 2 groups of enthusiasts met at the Calgary Chinook Intercare Facility, whereby, they potted flowers for the centre. Many of the residents of the centre came out to visit with the planters. There was lots of talking, laughter and most of all fun! For the girls in the Stardale program, it was a first-time opportunity to learn how to plant flowers, as well as to give back to the sick and the elderly.

Next the Stardale Women’s Group and Yale Group travelled to the second location for planting, which was the Alice Bissett Place. It is homes for homeless and low-income and at risk Calgarians. The groups provided pots with flowers and began the planting for the new facility. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Thank you to the Yale Alumni, the Calgary Chinook Intercare Facility and to Alice Bisset Place. We look forward to seeing you all next year. Keep up the spirit!

Please see our official "Thank You" here!
