The young women of Stardale Women’s Group will share their drumming and speak about what culture, truth and reconciliation mean to them. It will be a meaningful opportunity to listen, reflect and come together in a spirit of understanding.

Together

Join Stardale Women’s Group and the Rotary Club of Calgary Heritage Park as we honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡

The evening will include a screening of The Road, an award-winning film created by the young women of Stardale, followed by an opportunity to listen, learn and take part in meaningful dialogue.

Guests will also experience an Elder-led prayer and wisdom sharing, with special guest Eugene Stickland—playwright, author and co-creator of Stardale projects.

Community Events

Being involved and active in the community is a crucial value we instill in the girls as part of our program. We often schedule opportunities for the girls to be involved in community activities and events.

This event is an opportunity to discuss the effects of residential schools and their legacy and is open to the public. It will include a ceremony with Elder presence and teachings and a drumming performance from The Stardale Girls Drumming Group.

Additionally there will be a screening of the film "The Road" created by Stardale Women's Group. Refreshments will also be served.
