VOLUNTEER WITH STARDALE

We are always looking for superstar volunteers to help us make a difference in the lives of the girls we serve.

WAYS TO VOLUNTEER

Your volunteering efforts will help us ensure that every Indigenous young woman and girl we serve has the ability to fulfill her potential.

Stardale Women's Group relies on the dedication of our volunteers to be able to continuously support Indigenous young women and girls, and their families. We are looking to recruit amazing women in Calgary who are innovative, dynamic and who are ready to work within the framework of our after-school and mentorship programs for Indigenous young women and girls ages 10-17.

  • Our General Volunteers assist with a variety of tasks during class time and events. Every day is a little bit different but typical responsibilities might include serving, cleanup/take down, etc.

  • Many of our girls require assistance getting to and from classes and events and that’s where you come in! Drivers assist our girls with transportation and many also stay to volunteer during class too.

  • As part of our programming we ensure each girl has a warm and nutritious meal during class time. We regularly need assistance preparing as well as reheating these meals to serve.

  • We understand that some people don’t have the availability so assist all the time but would still like to help. We have a list of event volunteers that we contact when we need an extra hand or two!

  • Our girls look to their mentors for support, guidance and above all as a role model. Mentors are a vital part of our program and we strive to pair each girl with one.

MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE

Your volunteering efforts go towards increasing the health and wellbeing; reducing factors that place youth at risk for perpetrating violence; developing opportunities for creative and artistic expression; creating space for reconciliation and inclusion; and ongoing assistance and resources to the many young people we serve.

These girls need you! With your support, we can all move forward together and overcome adversity.
