Stardale Voguing Program

The Stardale Vogue Modelling Dance Troupe is a project within the "Honouring the Girls' Stories" program umbrella. Stardale developed and implemented self-development programs using creative processes, such as dance, to educate the girls in matters of self esteem, building skill sets in cooperation, and learning how to perform in public setting. We have been encouraged by the positive outcomes and enthusiasm from the girls and their families from within the program dynamic.

Yale University Alumni and Stardale giving to the community – May 15, 2010

Yale Day of Service: Each year the Yale Alumni from around the world come together to volunteer their time to a worthy endeavour in their community. The Calgary Alumni with the Stardale Women’s Group organized a very special day. The 2 groups of enthusiasts met at the Calgary Chinook Intercare Facility, whereby, they potted flowers for the centre. Many of the residents of the centre came out to visit with the planters. There was lots of talking, laughter and most of all fun! For the girls in the Stardale program, it was a first-time opportunity to learn how to plant flowers, as well as to give back to the sick and the elderly.

Past Youth Activities

Four weeks and nine public performances later, the springtime tour of Stardale's The Make Believer Project has come to a close. A spoken word piece by urban, Aboriginal girls, telling the truth as they know it, their final show including the experimental video they created in conjunction with Contemporary Calgary, played to a standing-room-only crowd on June 21 in honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day.
